I believed that story for a long time but found out that’s not true! So, what’s the big secret and how can you get it?

In the world of travel hacking, there’s a thing called status matching.  You may or may not have heard of this term.  Or maybe you’ve heard of it but have never done it.

The concept at its most basic level is that you have status with one hotel or airline and a competing hotel or airline wants your business.  So they have status match programs to acquire new customers.

Sometimes they are for promotional periods of time.  Sometimes they are challenges that require you to stay a certain number of nights or fly a certain number of segments on their metal before they match your status.  They get to make the rules of their status match.  And then you just follow whatever rules or guidelines are put out there.

Some status matches are easier than others.

The general idea of shortcuts to status excites me.  I love it when I can be a VIP (and show you how to be a VIP!) for a very little bit of effort and receive huge payoffs.

Diamond Status with Caesars is one of those huge payoff status matches!

Step 1 of 3

Go to the Wyndham status match site. If you aren’t already a member of Wyndham rewards, sign up by clicking the “Join Now” link. Once you have your Wyndham Rewards number and login account created, fill in the status match form, attach your proof of status and submit it.

Once you are notified via email that you have Wyndham Diamond Status, you can then go to the Caesars match site.  Again if you don’t already have a Caesars Total Rewards account, click Join Now and set one up.

If you already have a Caesars Players Card but have never set up an online account, choose the “Activate your Online Caesars Rewards account” option.

Step 3 of 3

Once you have your Caesars online account set up, click on “Partners” and scroll down.

Click and it will take you to this screen where you choose the “I’m a Wyndham Rewards member” -option and enter your Wyndham Diamond number.

 

Once that is completed, your Caesars match will be completed within 7 days (or less!)

FYI, I never received an email from Caesars confirming the match so you will just have to log in to your Caesars account to check to see if you match has been completed.

A Few More Things You Need to Know

This entire matching process can take up to 10 days to complete so be sure to start well before you get there so you can take advantage of all of the goodies as soon as you arrive!

Sidenote: There is no guarantee as to how long Wyndham will keep this status match in place.  As with any status match situation, the company that offers it can just as easily take it away.

If you match to Caesars Diamond Status now, it will be good through January 31, 2020.  If you aren’t going to any Caesars Owned Hotels before then, I would just wait and see if the Wyndham status match is still in place February 1, 2020.  Then once you match to Caesars Diamond Status, you will have it through January 31, 2021!
